At the conclusion of the seminar, we have volunteers IERP the best pictures from our exchange year. On the one hand to pick out pictures for a calendar, on the other hand, simply to show it what we did in the year. Here I show you now the most beautiful and most photos from one year of volunteer work in all areas. The pictures are what I find very beautiful and give a good and representative insight into the country, people and culture ... SO it looks here at the Rio de la Plata!

Fiesta Fiesta Fiesta

My time here comes to an end ... The last four weeks have begun. Amazing how quickly this happens ...
In recent weeks a tremendous amount going on and the fact that one has the feeling that the time channel through your fingers, you can experience all the events somehow more intense than they are anyway. Well: The past few weeks were very intense celebration. Starting with the World Cup:
Since we have no TV in our flat, we need it or not, always go to our favorite bars here in Flores, to watch the games. One morning I was so clock at 8:30 with my roommate to see Simon in 'Ner pizzeria to the Argentina game against South Korea. Has been to watch crazy how the whole place every even the smallest of the Argentine goal-scoring opportunity was on his feet ... and when a goal fell, we saw how the people stood on chairs and tables, the men were strangers joyfully in the arms and wept for joy - a spectacle! Well, then at the end Argentina won 4-1. Another quick example of the Argentine soccer euphoria: after the Argentine had won the first qualifying round match 1-0 against Nigeria, there was the next day at the "La Nacion" (Argentina's largest daily newspaper, about comparable to the FAZ or the time) a 18 (!)-page sports section in the 14 pages on the outstanding play, the great football god Maradonna and a quote of the absolute world class player Messi has been reported. When it comes to football, the Argentines' s really a shot! Since the already great national pride, yet at times quite different dimensions ... We are curious how the two games look tomorrow ... Should Germany take on Argentina in the quarterfinals really, then "God's grace to us!"

Furthermore, we celebrated the birthday last Saturday by Simon, which at the same time was a little bit the last big party we have thrown as WG in our home. Loaded was a colorful crowd of volunteers, colleagues from the projects, neighbors and other friends, it squeezed into hndert people felt perhaps in our 70m ² apartment. It was a memorable evening with lots of mixed people, mixed music, chili con carne and lots of alcohol! When I woke up the next morning, I really thought I was in the wrong movie! I have seen our house has never been so dirty, the floor sticky with dirt on our living room floor swam a huge puddle of beer, it smelled like in 'nerve bar and in our bathroom is the cistern broken, so that all under water stood. To top it all rang at that moment (at 11 clock in the morning!), But also our older, a little stuffy neighbor from above and asked me that we should not hesitate to wipe the hall, which would now be very dirty indeed. In addition, she was very tired because they had just come from the funeral of her mother the night before and yes because of the loud music does not really been able to sleep ... I was at that moment just touched so embarrassing and I did it for the poor woman soooo terribly sorry that I am still on a thousand-half-sleepy, stammered English with her apologized and promised to clean the hall. Fortunately we had some overnight guests, which we then despite violent hangover clean while cleaning up the apartment and helped. Insegsamt we used an entire 5-liter canister of chlorine-containing cleaning products to the ground (and the hall!) To wipe ... Strong evening (and even stronger tomorrow) was that!

went a day later we will all meet at the final seminar for the IERP Baradero. There then came the first time since the beginning of each seminar all 41 volunteers. It was very good to see everyone and see how others have developed over the year. Overall, we spent five great, intense days together, which were influenced by watching football talk, exchange experiences, reflection and Preparation for the first steps in Germany. And although, of course, so already makes many worry about the departure and return, it was still well within the framework of the seminar paper to be clear about what to expect. Overall, I have the feeling of having the seminar my thoughts and feelings sorted something about it. Particularly in terms of friendships, experiences and views that I have won in the year and I will take with them to Germany. On the last evening was then (again) time to party. Farewell gifts were presented, a bit of improv theater plays, dance and mulled wine drunk in moderation. The next Tomorrow then all moved back to the last stage in their respective projects to the last weeks again to take full advantage. There

photos of the festivities's whole course again in the new album to see.
un abrazo

Identifying Varieties Of Dry Beans

power failure and other things

Hola amigos!
Recently back some funny things happened, beginning with the power outage, we had the last week. Last Thursday, unfortunately, the main power generator, complete, Flores (my neighborhood) is unusual Floresta and Caballito. I climbed by 18 clock of the bus and stood on a nearly extinct Rivadavia, the main street on which you usually move out of sheer traffic and people can not. That was some change creepy feeling, as it also slowly began to get dark. I went shopping with me in Cuadra still a few things. In the bakery, the bread sold by candlelight, our greengrocer who else is always open to 22 clock had already closed and the Fiambreria ('ne kind of cheese and sausage shop) I have been advised me not alone rumzutreiben on the street, but as soon as possible to go home. One really had the feeling to move into a ghost town ... In the restaurants the tables were lit with candles and Supermarkets have signs taped on the windows "sold out candles with. While I have therefore used the current-free evening to the light of my grand, battery-operated head lamp (made fun of me by the way ALWAYS was!) Baked apple pie, have used my roommate Simon the opportunity and beautified the deserted streets with his "wall art" .
After 24 hours without power at some point the main power generator repair, with the result that the middle of the night (approximately by 3 clock in the morning) there was suddenly festive lighting in our apartment. Well, now we have electricity again, but does not our internet for three days ... Such is life. On Tuesday A technician will come from the phone company and remove the Internet. Let's see if the is really - we are excited ...
I also had my last week expected to last choir performance with the choir of the economic faculty of the University of Buenos Aires, where I singing along since October last year. It was a concert in the really gorgeous renovated main hall of the "Casa de la Cultura". I even had a little audience that could finally make some photos from the choir, as three friends come to sit and watch Voluntärinnen are. That was beautiful! Afterwards, we then held to be a major, original Swabian noodles meal with us in the flat ... really delicious!
Furthermore, we have recently honored the birthday gift from a friend and went there with a group of girls to the opera. Where Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" was a wonderfully dramatic, heart-wrenching love story in Italian. And once again won the recognition habeich: Less a movie, go for it more in the opera and the theater!
La Paloma is still going great! For two weeks I have a new colleague with whom I lead the group together children of the middle. The collaboration is really great, the activities are much more organized and sophisticated, as in the work with my old colleagues. Izwischen has the World Cup in La Paloma catchment received. I made last week a giant game board with thousands of small flags, which now hangs in the Comedor (this is the name of the main dining room) and ensures proper conversation. But I realize now that real friendship with the Argentines when it comes to football ends. Yesterday I said to some guys: "Hey, if I cheer for Argentina tomorrow, then you must also press on Sunday for Germany the thumb." Then I was hurled phrases such as "Näää, not for the Germans!" The Germans can not reasonably play football anyway! " My colleague and I take the World Cup now as an opportunity to work with the children a bit about the different countries. We will treat all trivial things: where is Südarfika? What do the people from there? If the 'n-reduced' n rich country? etc. .. On these issues I'm really looking forward units.
Yesterday was my pregnant colleague, whose baby "Joaquin" will be called, and said excitedly to me, "Merle, Merle, my husband told me that the coach of the German national team and Joaquin is with first name!" It took a while before I understood that she was talking about Joachim Loew and her then I could explain the misunderstanding
;-) Oh yes, there are now better than the weeks counted and trying to do so many things to see to make, buy as possible. And I realize now that I will not make all that I've made up my mind. Well see, well as if I had to again come back to Argentina. Now I just spend
but the rainy Saturday afternoon in order to sit with my laptop in my favorite bar, drinking cappuccino and enjoy properly operating WiFi. Consequently, you can show the way, also new photos and admire above all, two small videos, the small parts of our WG-life.
Best wishes to hopefully warmer Germany,
your Merle
