Prom Dresses From Le Chateau

Christmas atmosphere at 25 ° up

So, tell this time not a long introduction, but just what the last few weeks was going on.

On 30 November we have with the "Chiguaguas" says then the group of children from 5 to 9 years in La Paloma, a Día de Convivencia made (translated literally as "day of living together"). The children came as usual to the project, were not only home at five, but stayed in La Paloma, to spend the night there. afternoon we joined a trip to the Plaza of the neighboring town of Moron made to exploit the local playground, including carousel ... seems to me that children are on the same the world over: they find it great if they are on a rotating vehicle is, they hailed from the edge, and with them running a race. As soon as we look for the adventure playground returned to La Paloma, were started by the already elaborately prepared Educador evening program. First, a kind of small "camp Olympics were staged (Eg fishing plastic fish in the pool) in which the children in several disciplines against us workers, we have the frightening name "Rottweiler" (as an equivalent of the group names of the children "Chiguaguas") quests had. Of course, the Rottweiler who lost miserably;) As a prize won by the children's many small flashlights with which they were to deny a treasure hunt through the mitlerweile darkens project site. were not previously taken into account except the fact that only two are really only fit of eleven children in reading and writing, and thus their fellow players to read the ambassador always a step ahead, worked very well also. At the end of the evening was only then showered and teeth cleaned before the children eat an ice cream (yes, that is Argentina ... you can always eat, even if one has just teeth cleaned!) and were allowed to watch a movie. Since the majority of the children of full-day program was pretty exhausted, are already more than half asleep watching TV, so we had to wear after einzelnd in the bedrooms. It was a beautiful moment when the big kids who had held out and were still awake, very gently helped her friends and younger siblings to bed in the blankets and not just wake up. Suddenly, all ran on tiptoe and talked only in whispers, the otherwise always so loud and bustling town of La Paloma was suddenly quiet and still ... The next morning we had breakfast together in the still rising sun and then we took the children home. Overall, I found the Día de Convivencia a demanding, but very nice action. The children had lots of fun and have clearly demonstrated that they can if they want to, well tolerated one another and can act so that the Campamento (a kind of summer camp) is not handicapped. It was just a bit of meaning and purpose of the night, sleep with the children in common and to practice together because we are in a week with all the children after Baradero's Campamento ... Continue
order for it to still earn some money, we have the beginning of December for the first time organized a Peña. Peña is a kind of a dinner evening where friends, acquaintances and members of the project are invited and will be offered to the relaxed atmosphere in a bit of entertainment. In any case, it was a nice, leisurely dinner, we've got off the ground. Were shown photographs of the activities of the last year, a folk group and played the young people themselves have made empanadas (typical Argentine meal: meat-filled dumplings) are served. In general, it was really great, the otherwise outspoken and bold to see young people in the evening. Once the guests arrived, they were replaced as follows: polite, courteous and very eager to lunch. Overall, Peña was definitely worth it. We now have enough money to be able to make a beautiful and relaxed with the kids :-) Campamento
I have further opened the first of December my Adventsklender in La Paloma. First, I explained what an Advent calendar at all: that we must cut off every day in December a package to count the days until Christmas and get that in Germany almost all children as an advent calendar. After they then understood the procedure, they were allowed to Open the first package, which contained the cookie cutter from my house and my grandma cookieRecipe. I then spent the day with the children in the Panaderia, a bakery in La Paloma, where we have baked all together Weihnachtskekese. Luckily I had already prepared the dough, so that the children actually outdo the cookies and they only afterwards with chocolate icing and needed to brush. Although the Panaderia saw from behind a mess and we had to do for over an hour clean, but the cookies tasted delicious. So overall a great success, even if the day was pretty funny, because on the same day, this year's pool season was opened in the project. Actually, the pool should be available again early November, but since the students had the task to clean the pool to sand and repaint, this task, however, have not taken so seriously at first, the preparation moved by the beginning of December. This is also part of education at La Paloma: If you want something, you have to do it yourself and take care of this! so it was that we have baked on December 1 until Christmas cookies and afterwards jumped into the pool are - stark contrast Program! At least for me ... the Argentines in the common paradigm can be, despite the oppressive heat and Temperturen beyond the 20 ° C in their pre-Christmas Gloomy mood. The shopping streets are awash with plastic trees candyshop, dudelnde Retirfiguren and flashing lights. Sometimes I miss the moment because of the hot mulled wine at the Christmas market at the Kiel usual bad weather. The other day we were
at the concert by Manu Chao (for those to whom the name says nothing: a very cool, internationally known reggae musicians). The concert was definitely bold zeimlich, mega lots of people, all of which were floating in a more or less large cloud. Manu Chao has really played out on a train all of his songs, without breaks in between great moderation or make other. The evening was more like a perpetual jam session between him and his band. Shortly before the end of the concert, an Indian woman came on stage, which held a more or less emotional approach and commitment to the preservation of sites of indigenous peoples in the north of the country called. Pretty impressive performance in any case ... Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the concert, has since, according to the experience of the Tote Hosen concert dared not bring a camera.

Since the last Tuesday here was a holiday in Argentina, I have taken the opportunity to free my take on Monday, and so a long weekend (4 days) with other volunteers in Mar del Plata, a seaside resort on the Argentine coast, about 6 hours by bus south spend in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, the weekend went for me go rather ugly. On Saturday morning we wanted to take the bus clock by 9 to Mar del Plata, which meant that I would have to get up at 6:30, umnoch to pack the last things and then go to the bus station to Quilmes. However, as I from the night before, where the Peña had taken place in La Paloma, was still so tired, I have full can oversleep! With the greatest panic I'm at 8.15 clock, still in pajamas, got into the taxi, the taxi driver got in commanding the seriousness of the situation and asked him to explain it properly but please press on the tube, which made the good as well. Added to this was that I also ncoh the tickets for Lisa and Laura, two others had Voluntärinnen, so would have missed the worst case, not only I but also the girls to the bus. Well, luckily the taxi arrived in time at the bus station in Quilmes, so I nciht came too late. On the contrary: The coach had finally even half an hour late ... We are just in Argentina!
arrived in Mar del Plata, it continued for me, unfortunately not much better because I was long plagued again by a beautiful, thick migraine attack and the first day and a half or less the first time in bed spent. Well, but was not sooo bad as the weather finally was at first anyway rather dull and gray. We lived Incidentally, in an apartment by friends of Fenjas host family who had rented us her apartment over the weekend for little money. Although it was with 6 people in the actually for max. 4 people laid out flat a bit tight, but she was right in the city center, so we stayed indoors anyway nciht much, but mostly were traveling. We have looked at the classic sights of Mar del Plata (sea lions in the harbor, beach promenade, etc. ...), enjoying the sun at the beach party, were living there and have the volunteers visited. One evening we even went to the casino. A very fun experience was this - everywhere people smoking in chic or less chic clothes, gamble their big money. Lisa has been cleared away from us the most. The good has thrown just two pesos (about 40cent) in so nen colorful machines, pressed the button one time and bang: won 150 pesos (after all, almost 30 €)! I'm at the end after all, not a minus, but an increase of 15 pesos (about 3 €) went out. Conclusion of my first casino visit: Casino is a place of big money, where you do not necessarily have to understand the games - you can simply win something! Nevertheless, I believe that I would eventually like to go again with my dad to the casino to me someone all the rules on Roulettet, blackjack and poker explained.
The last two days we have really chilled on the beach and have a picture with red Santa hats shot on the beach, to make the folks back home jealous (hehe;) While I suffer under the very largest sunburn of my life, but I am still telling myself successfully , the DSS's all soon becomes brown from red. All in all I liked Mar del Plata pretty good, even if it is a typical Touriort on the coast. There were quite a few hotels, skyscrapers, restaurants and night clubs, but for it to on the other hand, beautiful beaches with great surfing waves.

On the last meters of the year 2009 are now quite a few Things in my diary. Especially in La Paloma there in the next two weeks to be done pretty much: annual accounts, Campamento, staff party etc. .. much stress, but I'm looking forward. And 23 December already takes from the Tigre River Delta, where I will spend with the others during the Christmas holidays.
I hope I can do it yet, write sometime this year on another entry before I go on my big backpacking through South America. wishes
A beautiful Advent season and a peaceful Christmas to you

"The specter of (in) Security in Argentina"

The following article was recently in our Boletín Voluntariado (a Type "Newsletter" for the volunteers of the IERP issued). Arturo Blatezky is pastor of the Evangelical Church of the Rio de la Plata and also works for the human rights organization MEDH with which cooperates closely IERP. I met Arturo during our introductory seminar in ISEDET and experienced it as very impressive, authentic man who has a lot of weird experience in the field of human rights work. Arturo
now as I said last Boletín a report on "uncertainty in Argentina," written, which I think is very good and clear, and therefore denied him you do not want to.
preliminary one should be aware that the social Situation here is rather procedural in Argentina. On the one hand, the large gap between rich and dominated the realm of human life, on the other hand, the huge problem of corruption. People here (especially the younger generations) have simply zero confidence in police and judiciary, as both instances not fight against the existing wrong, but on the contrary, even in many cases, are the selfsame source. The cases in which Arturo reported in his article, the best example of the situation is here in Argentina. I had the oral reading are open, just because I know that things are really happening recently Sun
is the original quite a long time, I've shortened it for this post here. But those who would like to read the full article can simply right click on the appropriate link. Who is
's too much text, so can just scrawl down - there's again a peaceful, beautiful words to read by me;)

A specter is haunting IN ARGENTINA - THE GHOST OF UNCERTAINTY ...

Macri - De Narvaez & Co.: "The non-political entrepreneur-politicians"
[...] ¿What is the "creation of security for the decent citizens" by Mayor Macri in the city of Buenos Aires? The best example is undoubtedly the creation of UCEP Brigade, the "unit for the control of the general public."
consists Specifically, this measure is that a-secret group were recruited from civilian city employees, and at night by the poorer and hidden areas of the city of Buenos Aires patrols in private vehicles by beggars and homeless, in their hundreds under the bridges of highways, canopies o . etc. to spend the night trying to sell means more or less clear, mild or severe violence. These actions of the UCEP Brigade went so far that even the Chief Commissioner in charge of the city state police distanced himself from them and denied anything to do with it too. But the fact remains that the decree is Macri and UCEP extended the freedom of action even explicitly. Her official office and action is based [...] in the center of Buenos Aires and their actions often with trucks of private garbage supply of the city accompanied and supported. As well as from private cars to travel in which several large, athletic men who are all distinguished by black uniforms.

accompany us and show these violent attacks by government-hired thugs illegal for some time together with the Catholic community on the Clear Tian Constitución, the main terminal station of the trains that enter from Patagonia and the south.
A good friend, Pastor Jorge Alonso has stated in court that:
"It was about at 12 clock at night when I heard from the street-from under the highway her screams. It was a very well known to me who, since some time next to the wall of our congregation stayed and sometimes comes to food, mate tea, sugar etc. to demand. I looked out the window and saw about 18 to 20 young men, all in black uniform, tried to persuade the man. Then they climbed into their cars and drove away. The next day the man came to me and told me they had threatened him, he should make it that there wegkäme. The (66th year) man was very frightened, and said only assume that they had threatened him, next time they would wegprügeln him.
It is exactly as it says our Cardinal Bergoglio time again, people are unnecessary for the government of this city, you can treat them as disposable garbage. [...]

The real victims of the "uncertainty of the capitalist society"

Carlitos - have 14 years

few things in my life so moved as the funeral of the 14 year-old Carlitos.
Carlitos Familia lived with his as the other 45 to 50 thousand people in the slum of Villa Itatí "outermost in poverty. He gathered with his sister and his parents, paper, cardboard, bottles and other recyclable what is still in the trash. At the same time he visited the nearby night school.
A life like that of other boys his age in "Villa Itatí. His death was a death like many other everyday death in "Villa Itatí" and the other slums of the poor belt around Buenos Aires.

On a hot autumn day in April Carlitos played barefoot and clad only in shorts Soccer in the open space between the two tracks of the highway, "Villa Itatí" from Villa Azul separated.
were at half-time a spectator Carlitos to buy money to the players in the nearby kiosk for a Coke. When Carlitos
front of the kiosk was a car stopped suddenly, a man got out and shot him without saying a word at close two bullets in the back of the head.
As the audience of the game came running the short track was Carlitos already dead, the man posed as cop to identify out of service and excused himself by saying that "he meant the boys had seen during a robbery, but he could be wrong recently because the look're all equal ... "
As the horrified and angry neighbors and spectators began to pursue the man and his car tried to overthrow, the police were immediately on the spot, since the crater, the "Villa Itatí" is night and day is surrounded by police cars. The police chased the man apart with violence.
When after some time a car arrived the responsible Commissioner and began to investigate the deaths, noted the family and neighbors, was brought out as among the fatalities, a gun that Carlitos never half naked, as he was, might have had with him . It was once again among us everyday normal way to blame the victim in order to relieve the offender.
The police officer was fired the next day without further prosecuted by the Justice be.

me for the funeral of Carlitos was not only because of the unspeakable and unpunished murder unique: Because his family lives in a small wooden hut in the impossible takes just a small coffin Course (Carlitos had grown small for his age), found his mortuary and funeral service at the edge of the highway instead, so that you can constantly rest by long distance buses, trucks and cars to us. The horse of about 50 carts that stood with their respective paper collectors families provided not just for silence and contemplation: It would be also a suggestion was from these people, in view of the equally horrible and cynical, and extremely provocative murder of a little boy who was one of them and they looked likely to grow up, something like silence and contemplation.
The train to the cemetery was for me an unforgettable experience: I was sitting with relatives in one of at least 50, such as reed boats in the middle of big city traffic uncertain swaying and bumpy cart with her little horse, in robe, the huge buses and trucks, such as ocean liners paying attention, the zoomed past us at the world from a different perspective, the very bottom, from all of the little ones all the way out from the uncertainty of those you can shoot with impunity as both jostle and fall over.

from the funeral itself, I remember just the sight of the well over 50 carriages and horses, all of which drove into the cemetery and the grave so close that they could see and hear something and the crowd.
And almost every car hand-painted posters, which were certainly the real and decisive response and preaching. The right photo shows one of these posters with the equally legitimate to speechlessness as desperate and compelling cry: "STOP THE KILLING OF THE INNOCENT"

Diego-16 years, Elias 15 years, Miguel-17 J., J. Manuel-17

It is easy to believe reports but not nearly what key in on the night of 20 October 2004 and is the most important police station in the city of Quilmes happen.
17 minors, some waiting for months to be-the fact transferred from the juvenile justice into a home for withdrawal drug addicts. The procedure is also as easy as incredible: Since this is all about low minor parties whose family can not pay the rehab must require that the minors themselves to ask the judge and accuse themselves as law-breakers, since they can be only as admitted at government expense. Since drug use but a criminal act, they were immediately detained as delinquents, and since the two 4-bed cells were overcrowded, were in the Night of horror in a cell 10 and in the other 7 children cooped up.
But that was nothing compared to what was to happen had

the afternoon on one of the boys, the 16 year-old Diego asked to be allowed to visit his parents in despair: he had received a letter from those in the stand, his little brother was seriously ill. Inexplicably, someone had in the police station the text before its handover Diego-changed so that one could read now, his little brother had died.
Diego, who was imprisoned in the 10-cell began to behave like wild, so that he was repeatedly beaten by the policemen on duty with the rubber floor. Finally resulted in a general riot and the police came into the cell and beat mercilessly on every 10 boys who continued to loudly calling for help, hoping to be the only window that leads to the street, heard from people. The riots flared in the other cell, so that the other 7 young people ruthlessly beaten by the Polize.
When everything did not help, the boys set fire to a part of a foam rubber pad in the hope that pedestrians would see the resulting smoke and the police would have to open the cell.

What happened the other hand, is unimaginable: All signs and investigations after someone poured outside of gasoline or kerosene under the sheet metal door of the 10.Zeller, so that the fire in the room where 10 people were packed, explosive spread. 4 of the boys died in the hours after her again, despite severe burns were beaten up. Some of them were driven around for hours in patrol car until it-all 10 scattered far from each other so that their members do not meet and do activities together-were admitted to hospitals were.

I Diego and his family knew well, so that the mother asked me the memorial service and funeral directing. I hab'deshalb Diego next Near long seen: His coffin was re-laid as that of Carlitos, the middle of a transition of the slum "Villa Itatí" because the hut of the family Maldonado was much too small for a coffin plus mourners. I can testify that the children are not suffocated by the smoke of the foam cushion, but burned. Diego's face and hands were still in the death of bright red, without any fragments of skin, because they were burned all; Diego also had not the least carbon black stain on the hands or face: Die-set for years belated investigation determines, that all 4 boys to internal burns of the respiratory tract, and none have succumbed to smoke inhalation, as the initial findings of its own police have announced.
After 5 years of waiting relatives still waiting for justice of the people: So far not a single policeman was convicted of four murders.

I never will forget the last scene, I have experienced at Diego's grave.
were gone when all people, I stayed at some distance and looked back.
I saw that Diego's sister knelt before the grave. I went back to her to hug her when I noticed that she turned a small cigarette, made of newspaper and hash, lit and stuck in the ground of the fresh grave mound. She said: "Perhaps it would help him find some peace."

What we in the Ecumenical Human Rights Movement think:

Many years ago, in April 1988, we have the following were announced:
"We see the MEDH with great concern the advance of the criteria of an alleged" security "that defend neither the social interests, much less the needs of the children, but the show only and persistent persistence of repressive mentality which has amply proved that it is absolutely harmful for all people, not only for those who practice and enrich themselves by it. We will also need the full social and legal system to do it so far with children and young adults, change from the ground up. We will never be achieved by a greater "security" that we build a stronger and expanded repression of children, with more bars and large padlocks: ¿How should we protect our poor young people about to act against the law, while the torturers and strutting around murderers free of dictatorship and impunity among us? We note with dismay that there are many judges who want our children to the "detention" of those professional criminal henchmen over to the dictatorship, the drive continues to mischief. "

Tiffany Towers Before

... always on the

Buenas Noches Todos!

I know ... Shame on me that I have now been soooo long written anything. I'm really sorry! But I was really in the last month much to do, proppevolle weekends, many many new things ... Since I just did not have the time to write, but above all I needed to rest because you think somehow always Duch himself once all the events and contact must be before they are processed into text.
Sun, but now. What happened in the last few weeks all this?
early October I was, despite my dislike of other football, with four other volunteers in the international match between Argentina and Peru. This game was especially important as it was for Argentina to qualify for the World Cup in 2010. Overall, the whole day a great experience! Already on the way to Stadium, where we simply have to let the crowds go along there was a mega mood. Everywhere could be heard chanting and Murgatrommeln that fueled the crowd. The big wow factor came when we entered the stadium, I've never seen such a huge soccer stadium (if they do, it may not have been as impressive as I remember clearly not tuned)! During the first half was rather boring, is the second designed for the more spectacular. First was a goal (juchu! great relief throughout Argentina), then one was heard, it's pouring down with rain and thunderstorms, to which neither fans nor players were prepared. When then Peru still a goal scored, the situation was like the apocalypse - but then, in the penultimate minute of injury time came the redemptive 2-1 for Argentina! The stadium went wild and Diego Maradona has put down for joy belly flop on the floating grass, which was highlighted on the next day in all newspapers of Argentina on the front page. Most impressive for me were the "safeguards" that apply in those football games. Already on the way we came against a huge squad of police officers, all of whom were armed with batons and firearms. In addition to football tournament is basically sold no beer, because the potential for violence apparently sober already high enough ... the rants, that insulted the Argentines her Peruvian opponent left, definitely leave a lasting impression. While on German soccer fields perhaps words such as "pigs" or "wimp" is mentioned, the Argentines put the same matter with real hard expletives. Behind me sat a small boy who watched the game with his father. Both, even the short screamed incessantly "Hijo de Puta" and "Concha de tu madre", as a Peruvian player injured lay on the lawn (I leave that at this point even untranslated - who's get really interested,'s already out anyway). Although I am still not the big soccer fan become (even if the topic does not deal here in Argentina just ...), but overall it was an atmosphere unique experience!
selbsen On the weekend I did with Hannah, another volunteer from BsAs, a day trip to Tigre. Tigre is a beautiful island landscape, which is in the delta of the Rio de la Plata, is therefore in the north of BsAs. We made a boat tour through the river delta, the proficient or another small island and simply enjoy the beautiful nature. It has really felt as if you were wandering in the jungle ... Even funny that such a small, just a different world Hour by train from the great city BsAs is removed. In any case, our trip there we liked it so much that we even asked for ways to stay there. And lo and behold, if everything runs smoothly rent, we with a few other friends over Christmas a little house on the river and there celebrate Christmas together under palm trees.
It goes on, I've made more trips lately:
end of October I went along with staff from my project for a weekend to Villa Gessel. The small town is located on the southern coast of Argentina and is a popular destination for locals. It is also called "ciudades Fantasmas" - to ghost towns dt, because these small towns on the sea in winter appear to be deserted and explode in summer for all travelers and tourists really. Fortunately, the October one here for spring, so I've probably never experienced the center stage. In any event, was held at the weekend, one hosted by the University of BsAs training place for all the professions of social work, psychotherapy, or development assistance. Even though I have long understood not all the lectures that were held this weekend, it still has a lot of fun. It was in between every now and again small workshops on topics such as Art & Music "," Body Expression "or" media work "which were pretty funny, once you had overcome their own inhibitions first. addition, Villa Gessel really a wonderful nice little place which is just located by the sea. Maybe a little bit comparable to Eckernförde ... In any case, I've enjoyed it, to once again be on the beach and stand with your feet in the sea, even if it is not the Baltic Sea was;) Another "success" of this weekend in Gessel was that my staff again in more detail and got to know better. We have lived in seven of the local house of our boss, a lot of music, chatted, drank and ate asado of course! And I was almost forced to the Argentine meat in the sky to praise (it was actually very tasty!), but was allowed to keep in return for even a plea to the German beer, for that is really better than that dishwater they sell here. In this respect, the weekend on a linguistic, cultural and interpersonal level has paid off fully!
A highlight of recent weeks was also the concert Die Toten Hosen - Jaha, heard right. For some reason, I do not even know why, are the dead trousers here in Argentina, very famous and popular. In early November they were therefore within the limits of a large annual music festival. Since we already knew a long time ago, we have actually hinbekomen muster a squad of over 20 people with whom we went to's Festival. Since it was unfortunately rained on the day, all open air festival area was under water or mud (I am the next day one hour spent to scrub the dirt from my sneakers). But in time for the appearance of the trousers then it stopped raining, so it could be rocked without problems. Seriously: It is pure madness, like the Argentines can leave, if only someone properly fueling what Campino know God has done. Moreover, it was kind of funny to stand in the midst of a mass of Argentine fans who can sing along loudly to German texts, even though they have zero clue what is being sung really. The following link you will find the way, a short 5-minute report of the ZDFheute-Journal about the concert of the dead trousers in BsAs: http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitrag/video/878050/Die-Toten-Hosen-in -Buenos-Aires-# / beitrag/video/878050/Die-Toten-Hosen-in-Buenos-Aires

Unfortunately the day was not at the festival nuuur great. Basically stolen at concerts here in Argentina are very much what our group was not spared. Overall, we have two digital cameras, mobile phones and even several small items stolen - just like that out of the pocket, without being noticed something. One volunteer was even ripped the bag from below. Fortunately I had taken first place any valuables, otherwise now would be gone also determined. Well, that's just, Argentina ... neatly to party, but it also dusted properly.
Last weekend Hannah and I went together for a few days off to Paraguay, where we have two other volunteers of IERP, Benny and Nina, who visited in their project. This trip offered to anyway, because we had to leave because of our past entry stamp once the country to our tourist visa, which is dependent only valid for three months to renew the return journey. On Saturday we celebrated Benny's birthday and "accidentally" took on the very Saturday also is the big "Chopf," a kind of imitation of the Oktoberfest in small format, instead. There were tents, pop music and suffered legally labbriges, but high alcohol beer. In this joyful, exuberant and somehow "pseudo-German" atmosphere we celebrated until dawn. Overall, the trip to Paraguay was very very nice. It's always fun to meet with other volunteers, share experiences and just a bit to chill together, what we have done extensively. Large portions of the time we spent with shared cooking, bathing in the pool and sit around the campfire. However, we have also a little trip to the ruins of the Jesuit reduction in Paaguay made, which are now supposed to be part of the world cultural heritage.
What I liked overall the most was, Paraguay meet, as a country because it is really completely from what I'm used to date in Argentina, is different. Nature is pretty impressive, everywhere there are lush green fields and red earth. However, the beauty of nature does not hide the poverty of the people. When we have a total of two streets (no joke throughout Paraguay, there are only two Rutas leading this through the whole country) are long gone, we saw a small farm next to the next - and nothing else! People just live with their large families in small houses too. Also missing, it seemed, all infrastructural services. If you're lucky, you have access to running water and electricity unreliable. is to phone or even internet lines for most people nciht even to think first. But still made almost all the people I have met a crazy loving and open impression on me. One lives but spartan, but it spontaneously cheerful and above all! In Paraguay, I have also experienced things, think about at all were not in BsAs. So we are within the four days we were there, three times hitchhiked - thumb out, stop cars and bang: nice up to sixth in the back of of so nem PickUp! All in all, we have spent a very tranquiges (calm) and then in a funny weekend Hohenau. However, I was glad when we arrived were back in BsAs. Civilization, infrastructure and a certain general, albeit slow, organization of public life have been so their benefits. I'm just somehow more urban than country girl ...
So, even a few short sentences a. ..
- Language: is always getting better! For three weeks I've finally done it then managed to get language lessons to just have to learn a bit more grammar. Mitlerweile but I feel that my English is slowly everyday. I stay on the ball ..
- work: still great! La Paloma is really a great project in which I more and more my place. The kids grow on me, the wire to the employees is steadily closer and it slowly to find ways to support them not only at work, but I also own a bit more involved. For example, I will prepare an advent calendar for December (something the Argentines know that is not at all!), In which the children each day are allowed to open a surprise bags, which are then stories, candy or other small items. But when I report them next time
- WG: also still good. Just this evening was the sentence "We are the most stylish flat at all!" This was another mural that Simon has conjured up. The room now adorns one of the guys überdiensional large silhouette of Marilyn Monroe Andy Warhol-style ...

Dale, me voy a la cama (Well, I'm going to bed). Photos and videos (!) From the narrative, as always, to admire the new album. Have fun look!
Buenas Noches and a nice pre-Christmas time you wish

Yankee Candle Tarts For Scentsy

Images Of Early Chicken Pox

Arts, weekends, Characteristics and actions

Hello dear ones,
now is 23 clock with me and I lie lazily in jogging clothes on our saggy WG-bed. But still I find time again to tell a bit of something from Argentina.
Especially in recent weeks have struck me more and more characteristics of the national population. If you drive through the streets, for example, we discover, especially in the barrios farther out, the often any cars to park on the road and stands on the roof of an empty plastic bottle. The bottle demonstrates to people that the particular car is for sale. Often stuck somewhere in the window with a note Telephone number you can call if interested. Well, from this "custom", we have recently made a little fun times and made just ne empty water bottle on so send Ford n-slide;)
Furthermore, the vast majority of Argentines are strictly religious. On my way to work, the bus passed a church always and everything, really every time I count at least 4-5 people on the bus, the sign of the cross at the moment and mutter a short prayer. Moreover, our apartment is next to a church, which means that virtually always be people here in the street and worship by such a small Sehspalt an altar of the chapel.
to myself there is this strict maintenance of the faith somehow a bit strange and exaggerated. But I probably should not recognize my standards of germans, evangelical church not to the Latin America, predominantly Catholic faith ... Let's see how I feel in a few months on the subject.

now somewhat less of the social life of the Argentinians and for more of the social life of Merle: searched
I have of late a few activities besides work, so I am now almost back to the usual "free-time stress" is reached have I had at home all along. I go 2x a week, for example, in a Gymnasio (English and nicer term for "gym"), located around the corner from us in order fairly regularly to take a bit of sport. So completely without movement,'s leaves here with all Alfajores and facturas (sweet, sticky delicacies which have a track on every street corner) that is not live, provided you do not want to be as fat as an Argentine beef fattening. Also in the Gymnasio such fun fitness classes for women are offered, so there daily trying several ladies 20-60, wegzutrainieren their small or large tummy. Although it costs me every time a lot of self-conquest, and rouse myself to go there But then when I first came I, you quickly with the other girls in conversation, so you share a bit of moaning about the effort and the hour then it goes by relatively quickly.
Furthermore I got from one of my predecessors, the other day was visiting the project got the tip for a dance school in BsAs, so I had been dancing tango 3x already! (At this point: Thanks Anna) The teachers in this truly beautiful dance school, located in an old town house in the chic Palermo neighborhood, mainly young teachers, with the result that the audience is relatively young. Since I've never heard of the great dancers, I'm gone with a slightly queasy feeling in the first hour. While I eventually finished with 14 times the standard dance classes, but remember really, I could not remember the tango. But this was also not necessary, since the Argentine tango dance anyway quite different and also teach very differently than I even knew from Gemindzeiten. We started with breathing exercises, then exercises followed the pace, so you got a feel for the Tango music and then was the attitude (anyway the be all and the tango!) Trained. The steps came at some point all by itself ... Quite funny how you can lose very quickly once the fear of the opponent. In any case, I have to dance to Now a lot of fun, so I determined in the next time will go more often. Maybe I do not trust me then and even now sometimes referred to one of these public dances, here "milongas". Yesterday I
was also the first time at a rehearsal of a choir, of which I had several corners is sometimes quite a bit away. Somehow I got me worried then the number of the choir director and the times called. Unfortunately, the good guy on the phone who spoke so indistinctly that I understood only when and where the next sample. So I then only on site learn that it was in the choir at the University Choir of the local economic faculty. However, at least I have the test, the choir and the music very much and I realized that I missed the regular singing in the last few months somehow. I was also right down the membership list in his hand, which I should add me, so I'm going to go well from now on every Monday evening for choir practice.
was the way it another big adventure, the first time find the way both to the dance school and the university. Since it is really running alone, but with the map "GuiaT" armed, through the unfamiliar streets, is one of the Quadras, seeks Subtestationen, followed by the bus services and is happy every time you arrive at your destination without getting lost .. . Big city adventure!

Now, a short weekend report: before last weekend we went Saturday night with several people at a reggae concert where the band of a friend of friends of friends ... should occur. As it should start by 22 clock, Laura and I arrived, we were too late, already worn out relatively at half past 11 on there. At the time the singer of the band was sitting before the door and drank all his beer chilled. They started to play it at midnight ... But so what in the Argentine time perception are quite common, indeed almost on time. In any case, it was again a very typical situation: stress, the stupid German off, because they are half an hour late and the Argentines chilling first time a round comfortably, drinking mate, and let time pass. The concert turned out to be really cool if any, small club concert with good music and good beer prices. A liter of beer for 10 pesos, or about € 1.80. As can keep this year's Oktoberfest prices, do you? However, not only the beer prices, but the mood was really good. The space (roughly equivalent to the Kiel show booth) was indeed mega crowded, but somehow still has found any place to dance.
This past weekend I had then, as already announced in Baradero spent. There, the project two other volunteers centenary celebration. For the festival weekend were in advance of the 500 guests expected were finally well as the 900th The festival was similar overall to a German community festival - worship, children's games, Tombula, stalls and lots of food. the project was for food by the way extra hired a professional company, which then for the whole people, and Pollo Asado has grilled (meat and chicken). En serio: I have never seen such a mountain of meat! Madness! That was really impressive to see with which rutin and what Gechick so ne handful of older men that mountain of flesh have mastered and prepared actually very tasty. If the Argentines can one, then provide many people with the same meat;) The project in Baradero, whose grounds are really beautiful and huge in size, is located in the countryside. Everywhere grow any things that food can be: lemons, nuts, pomelo, potato ... There are also lots of nature, large lawns and a pool, which at the weather bomb that we had at the weekend, was also used extensively. However, brought me so much desired by the nature and the mosquitoes with them, so now all over my arms and legs are bitten (a total of nine tricks!). Until a year ago the project was a Baradero Home of the German-argetninischen community for boys and girls, so many former children's home had come for the anniversary celebration, which I have a couple of times to talk. Been mistaken to see such old people (some were over 80) who can speak fluent German and English and perfect ... The individual life stories of men and women, why and when they entered the home, as they are partly emigrated after the war from Germany to Argentina, etc., were in between really interesting ... Since I have once again realized how much this country is influenced by the diversity of its European immigrants.

So, finally, a few words about my Work:
am In the last weeks I got in to the project better and better, thanks mainly to my progress in terms of language. Sure, the more I can English, the better I can grumble, give orders to participate in discussion forums, who for now is washing it;) Despite the improvement, but this week I will look at the search for a language school, etc. go to the grammar a bit to get better. now I got to know the children better and better, so they are already grown really fond of me. Since I am now much better, everything can talk to them, they accept me slowly and find confidence in me what a very nice feeling.

Last week we did with our little ones (4 to 8 year olds) a trip to the zoo from Palermo, as they have in substance in the past few weeks working on "So-Animales Animals". For many children it was he first time they went out of her barrio and into the city after capital. The whole day was really nice - weather was great, children in a good mood and the zoo was really nice to the animal husbandry, in my opinion, some not quite appropriate to the species was. But there are also other directives as well here in Germany.

Last Friday we have in La Paloma the "Marathon de Lectura" celebration, a kind of project day on "books / stories / read", which was by the staff planned long in advance and organized. We have divided the children into three groups and then in accordance with decorated salons stories on "Myths & Legends" and "horror and ghost stories" and "children's stories" read. Moreover, all the maestros have covered so completely that day as La Paloma had changed. In any case, the "Marathon de Lectura" a complete success, the children's were great!
have in the new photo album, I finally used my photos of La Paloma and put our actions online. I thought me, I sometimes write the names or nicknames of the kids and staff to getting you hear me, how people are so hot;) Lena and Lisa's here that is not so much ...

So, actually I wanted to renovation of the delusion of my roommates (the two, or rather Simon, namely zerkloppt have their monstrous cabinet over the weekend and now set up her room again) and tell the chaos of the Argentine authorities regarding our visa, but I have no desire to now and no more energy;) Meanwhile, there is already 1 and I have to clock back tomorrow morning so I finally * cough * get up and work.
Abrazos, dearest greetings
your Merle

PS: Oh yes, one more, whom black and yellow do not like also migrates it on your own, come to me wanted to Argentina =)

... and out!

only tell you that I flee over the weekend the Großstadtjungel and going to Baradero, a place in the greater BsAs. Is celebrating another project IERP the 100-year anniversary, with all volunteers are invited. Of course, I think it's also interesting to learn about other projects, but above all I look forward to times of the megacity (which I actually find totally great!) And maybe get out again to see green trees and, above all, the horizon ... The I'm missing a bit. Since I'm just a child but somehow the Baltic Sea. If I'm back, I report on recent weeks.
