So, tell this time not a long introduction, but just what the last few weeks was going on.
On 30 November we have with the "Chiguaguas" says then the group of children from 5 to 9 years in La Paloma, a Día de Convivencia made (translated literally as "day of living together"). The children came as usual to the project, were not only home at five, but stayed in La Paloma, to spend the night there.
afternoon we joined a trip to the Plaza of the neighboring town of Moron made to exploit the local playground, including carousel ...
seems to me that children are on the same the world over: they find it great if they are on a rotating vehicle is, they hailed from the edge, and with them running a race. As soon as we look for the adventure playground returned to La Paloma, were started by the already elaborately prepared Educador evening program. First, a kind of small "camp Olympics were staged (Eg fishing plastic fish in the pool) in which the children in several disciplines against us workers, we have the frightening name "Rottweiler" (as an equivalent of the group names of the children "Chiguaguas") quests had. Of course, the Rottweiler who lost miserably;) As a prize won by the children's many small flashlights with which they were to deny a treasure hunt through the mitlerweile darkens project site. were not previously taken into account except the fact that only two are really only fit of eleven children in reading and writing, and thus their fellow players to read the ambassador always a step ahead, worked very well also. At the end of the evening was only then showered and teeth cleaned before the children eat an ice cream (yes, that is Argentina ... you can always eat, even if one has just teeth cleaned!) and were allowed to watch a movie. Since the majority of the children of full-day program was pretty exhausted, are already more than half asleep watching TV, so we had to wear after einzelnd in the bedrooms. It was a beautiful moment when the big kids who had held out and were still awake, very gently helped her friends and younger siblings to bed in the blankets and not just wake up. Suddenly, all ran on tiptoe and talked only in whispers, the otherwise always so loud and bustling town of La Paloma was suddenly quiet and still ... The next morning we had breakfast together in the still rising sun and then we took the children home. Overall, I found the Día de Convivencia a demanding, but very nice action. The children had lots of fun and have clearly demonstrated that they can if they want to, well tolerated one another and can act so that the Campamento (a kind of summer camp) is not handicapped. It was just a bit of meaning and purpose of the night, sleep with the children in common and to practice together because we are in a week with all the children after Baradero's Campamento ... order for it to still earn some money, we have the beginning of December for the first time organized a Peña. Peña is a kind of a dinner evening where friends, acquaintances and members of the project are invited and will be offered to the relaxed atmosphere in a bit of entertainment. In any case, it was a nice, leisurely dinner, we've got off the ground. Were shown photographs of the activities of the last year, a folk group and played the young people themselves have made empanadas (typical Argentine meal: meat-filled dumplings) are served. In general, it was really great, the otherwise outspoken and bold to see young people in the evening. Once the guests arrived, they were replaced as follows: polite, courteous and very eager to lunch. Overall, Peña was definitely worth it. We now have enough money to be able to make a beautiful and relaxed with the kids :-) Campamento
I have further opened the first of December my Adventsklender in La Paloma. First, I explained what an Advent calendar at all: that we must cut off every day in December a package to count the days until Christmas and get that in Germany almost all children as an advent calendar. After they then understood the procedure, they were allowed to Open the first package, which contained the cookie cutter from my house and my grandma cookieRecipe. I then spent the day with the children in the Panaderia, a bakery in La Paloma, where we have baked all together Weihnachtskekese.
Luckily I had already prepared the dough, so that the children actually outdo the cookies and they only afterwards with chocolate icing and needed to brush. Although the Panaderia saw from behind a mess and we had to do for over an hour clean, but the cookies tasted delicious. So overall a great success, even if the day was pretty funny, because on the same day, this year's pool season was opened in the project. Actually, the pool should be available again early November, but since the students had the task to clean the pool to sand and repaint, this task, however, have not taken so seriously at first, the preparation moved by the beginning of December. This is also part of education at La Paloma: If you want something, you have to do it yourself and take care of this!
so it was that we have baked on December 1 until Christmas cookies and afterwards jumped into the pool are - stark contrast Program! At least for me ... the Argentines in the common paradigm can be, despite the oppressive heat and Temperturen beyond the 20 ° C in their pre-Christmas Gloomy mood. The shopping streets are awash with plastic trees candyshop, dudelnde Retirfiguren and flashing lights. Sometimes I miss the moment because of the hot mulled wine at the Christmas market at the Kiel usual bad weather. The other day we were at the concert by Manu Chao (for those to whom the name says nothing: a very cool, internationally known reggae musicians). The concert was definitely bold zeimlich, mega lots of people, all of which were floating in a more or less large cloud. Manu Chao has really played out on a train all of his songs, without breaks in between great moderation or make other. The evening was more like a perpetual jam session between him and his band. Shortly before the end of the concert, an Indian woman came on stage, which held a more or less emotional approach and commitment to the preservation of sites of indigenous peoples in the north of the country called. Pretty impressive performance in any case ... Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the concert, has since, according to the experience of the Tote Hosen concert dared not bring a camera.
Since the last Tuesday here was a holiday in Argentina, I have taken the opportunity to free my take on Monday, and so a long weekend (4 days) with other volunteers in Mar del Plata, a seaside resort on the Argentine coast, about 6 hours by bus south spend in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, the weekend went for me go rather ugly. On Saturday morning we wanted to take the bus clock by 9 to Mar del Plata, which meant that I would have to get up at 6:30, umnoch to pack the last things and then go to the bus station to Quilmes. However, as I from the night before, where the Peña had taken place in La Paloma, was still so tired, I have full can oversleep! With the greatest panic I'm at 8.15 clock, still in pajamas, got into the taxi, the taxi driver got in commanding the seriousness of the situation and asked him to explain it properly but please press on the tube, which made the good as well. Added to this was that I also ncoh the tickets for Lisa and Laura, two others had Voluntärinnen, so would have missed the worst case, not only I but also the girls to the bus. Well, luckily the taxi arrived in time at the bus station in Quilmes, so I nciht came too late. On the contrary: The coach had finally even half an hour late ... We are just in Argentina! arrived in Mar del Plata, it continued for me, unfortunately not much better because I was long plagued again by a beautiful, thick migraine attack and the first day and a half or less the first time in bed spent. Well, but was not sooo bad as the weather finally was at first anyway rather dull and gray. We lived Incidentally, in an apartment by friends of Fenjas host family who had rented us her apartment over the weekend for little money. Although it was with 6 people in the actually for max. 4 people laid out flat a bit tight, but she was right in the city center, so we stayed indoors anyway nciht much, but mostly were traveling.
We have looked at the classic sights of Mar del Plata (sea lions in the harbor, beach promenade, etc. ...), enjoying the sun at the beach party, were living there and have the volunteers visited. One evening we even went to the casino. A very fun experience was this - everywhere people smoking in chic or less chic clothes, gamble their big money. Lisa has been cleared away from us the most. The good has thrown just two pesos (about 40cent) in so nen colorful machines, pressed the button one time and bang: won 150 pesos (after all, almost 30 €)! I'm at the end after all, not a minus, but an increase of 15 pesos (about 3 €) went out. Conclusion of my first casino visit: Casino is a place of big money, where you do not necessarily have to understand the games - you can simply win something! Nevertheless, I believe that I would eventually like to go again with my dad to the casino to me someone all the rules on Roulettet, blackjack and poker explained. The last two days we have really chilled on the beach and have a picture with red Santa hats shot on the beach, to make the folks back home jealous (hehe;) While I suffer under the very largest sunburn of my life, but I am still telling myself successfully , the DSS's all soon becomes brown from red.
All in all I liked Mar del Plata pretty good, even if it is a typical Touriort on the coast. There were quite a few hotels, skyscrapers, restaurants and night clubs, but for it to on the other hand, beautiful beaches with great surfing waves. On the last meters of the year 2009 are now quite a few Things in my diary. Especially in La Paloma there in the next two weeks to be done pretty much: annual accounts, Campamento, staff party etc. .. much stress, but I'm looking forward. And 23 December already takes from the Tigre River Delta, where I will spend with the others during the Christmas holidays.
I hope I can do it yet, write sometime this year on another entry before I go on my big backpacking through South America. wishes
A beautiful Advent season and a peaceful Christmas to you
your Merle
