... And so it's all gone very quickly ... For almost three weeks, I am now back at home. A strange feeling ...
It was very difficult to take leave. The last weeks have been full of it somehow. Everything had to be done and I enjoyed once again the right time with my family. Last weekend I was with my host sister and her choir in a choral competition. She sings in her church choir and youth choirs all the Nazarene Church have been measured in a competition with each other. Was very nice to hear and even better, of course, as it has won its choir.
On the last day I got a kind of farewell party. have the whole day We cooked and prepared, then evenings celebrated with family and some friends leave.
I think it's both me and my family was very hard to say goodbye. After a year you get used to but very together and to me it's gone in my Mozambican family always good.
The next day I traveled from Maputo via Johannesburg to Cape Town. It was my first time in South Africa and Mozambique for a year in a fall on the differences properly. South Africa, I think Cape Town in particular has a very European, or maybe American. In the pedestrian zone in Cape Town, I felt like in Ulm, all houses that are reminiscent of Dutch cities, and even in the townships each with its own washing machine. South Africa is so close and yet so different.
And at night ... Once it was dim, have all urged me to go straight home with my hood over his head. My hair that is betrayed me as white, only on the color of the face in the dusk is to recognize not matter where in Cape Town but many blacks are quite bright (yes, blacks are darker and the sun was in Cape Town winter ...) . Once we have even seen young people with a pistol.
Fortunately nothing happened but a little scary to me the whole thing was then already. And I was glad to know this situation learned to have my time but spent in Maputo.
Yes, and then I also went from there and arrived after a night on the plane in Munich. In the end it did not take me yet so very moved home and as I have sometimes thought of during the year to Germany, I think now I have something like Mozambique and homesickness ...
But I'm certainly not the last time was there.
Many thanks to all who have supported me throughout the year from Germany.
